Therapy Outpatient Programs
Perfecting the Art of Recovery – One Visit at a Time
**Due to the current pandemic, we are limited in our Outpatient Rehab services. We apologize for any inconvenience, and we look forward to being able to offer these services again soon.**
Stone Rehab believes that rehabilitation should treat the whole person, mind, body and soul, by reshaping lives and restoring lost abilities after an illness or injury. Our highly qualified rehabilitation professionals work with you and your loved ones to help you return to the optimum level of function for a better quality of life.
Who Needs Outpatient Rehabilitation?
When you or a loved one suffers from an injury or disorder that affects their quality of life and ability to function, a doctor may make a referral to receive some therapy. At Stone Rehab, we offer care to people who live at Westminster-Canterbury on Chesapeake Bay and need rehabilitation services. In addition, we help patients who were previously inpatient and need further care when they have transitioned back home.
What Will Therapy Entail?
Patients are given an assessment of their functional abilities by our team. This helps us create a customized care plan based specifically to your needs and wants, as well as any doctors notes supplied. We will develop an individualized rehab program that addresses mobility, activities of daily living, communication skills and swallowing function.
Physical Therapy
Physical therapy uses exercises and treatments to help patients increase or regain range of motion. At Stone Rehab, our physical therapist create a plan for each patient, based on their specific needs.
Occupational Therapy
While physical therapy works to increase range of motion, occupational therapy focuses on helping patients become more independent by performing activities of daily living. These include personal hygiene, eating, tying shoes and others that may become difficult after an injury or as a result of suffering from a disease or disorder.
Speech Therapy
The phrase speech therapy can be a bit misleading. While speech therapists can help patients relearn how to communicate after an illness or injury, they also help with other cognitive issues. Patients may work with a speech therapist to increase stimulation of the brain by playing memory games or working on puzzles. Speech therapists can also help patients with swallowing difficulties.
Why Stone Rehab?
Stone Rehab treats each patient so they can enjoy a better quality of life. That means we address their physical, emotional, spiritual, and social lives. We have programming, events, educational seminars and employees or special guests that can offer insight on each. In order to be able to live each day to the fullest, we will help you or your loved one appreciate each day for what it offers.
